Ms. Polcaro's 7th grade science students took on the role of plants as they strategized whether to spend energy (in the form of sugars) on roots or leaves as environmental conditions change. This simulation, from the Cornell Institute for Biology Teachers, illustrates that plants are living, adapting organisms.
The class of 2016 served over a hundred customers at their breakfast fundraiser at the Cornerstone Diner in McClure. Thanks to all the patrons, student volunteers, and diner staff!
Second Grade Readers
perform "The Blind Men and the Elephant!"
Watch them in action here.
Seventh grade students and FFA members conducted a school-wide food drive that collected 20 cartons of food for the Afton Food Bank. Well done student volunteers and ACS!
Congratulations to our MS/HS students who have achieved
Honor Roll status for the first ten-week marking period!
Nolan E. (class of 2016) and Austin K. (Class of 2015) recently performed in the Tri-Town Theater's production of "Kiss Me Kate." Singing and dancing in a number of roles, Nolan and Austin earned the respect of their fellow performers AND had a great time!
